PASSWORD PROTECTED DOOR LOCK SECURITY SYSTEM

 LCD KEYPAD DOOR LOCK USING AN ARDUINO   Hi ! how about locking your room using an LCD door lock. That would be nice, especially so if you want to lock out a pesky sibling. πŸ˜„ THIS IS WHAT YOU WOULD REQUIRE An Arduino Uno Micro Controller  16 x 4 LCD display  12 V DC solenoid door lock  Led Lights  Some jumper wires for the connections    9 V battery (an external power supply more closer to 12 V  would be better ) Relay  10k potentiometer 220 Ohm resistor 4 x 4 keypad  HOW DOES THIS DOOR LOCK WORK   πŸ”πŸ”πŸ” When one enters the password for the door lock, the keys pressed match with the  default keys.  The solenoid lock is activated and the door lock opens.  Simultaneously, the LCD also displays a 'Welcome' message.   If the keys do not match the default password then the door lock remains closed. Item list   2 x cardboard covers  Copper plate   Aluminium foil  2 x jumper wires   A few paper clips   Multimeter  Procedure. Mount the copper plate on one of the cardboard covers and cover other cardboard cover with Aluminium foil.  Connect the two above prepared  plates to the multimeter test probes using the jumper wires.    HARNESSING ELECTRICITY TO COMMUNICATE - MORSE CODE Morse code  is based on name of its inventor Samuel Morse and was used first in 1844. For well over 100 years it was extensively used for communication including during the World War 1 and World War 2. Have you ever wondered how fast does light travel ? We can measure the speed of light in our home using just our home appliances through a simple(and tasty !!) activity. Item List For this you will be needing: 1. A microwave  2. A bar of chocolate ( eggs work too!!) 3. A ruler  4. and a calculator. Principle A Microwave oven as the name suggests uses microwaves to heat our food. These microwaves are a part of the Electro-Magnetic spectrum and lie between Radio Waves and Infrared Waves.     The interesting part is that these micro waves travel at the same speed as that of light. Viola! Calculating the speed of these micro waves would give us the speed of light.
